Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Sunday criticized the deteriorating state of three major drains in the Nizamuddin area, describing their condition as appalling and heavily clogged with silt, sludge, and debris.
In response, the AAP accused Saxena of engaging in political posturing, arguing that he should have acted much earlier, particularly during the monsoon season.
Saxena has instructed officials to commence desilting immediately and to clear all encroachments within a week to prevent flooding in surrounding areas.
