The Delhi Development Authority (DDA), led by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, announced pivotal housing and infrastructure reforms at a Tuesday meeting. The DDA introduced three housing schemes and a comprehensive policy for the management and pricing of community facilities and stand-alone garages.
The Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme 2024 aims to provide discounted flats for low-income groups in areas such as Ramgarh Colony and Narela. Another scheme, the General Housing Scheme 2024, offers a broader range of housing options without price escalation. Additionally, the Dwarka Housing Scheme 2024 will auction higher-category flats in upscale areas.
Other significant moves include approving an amnesty scheme for lease renewals, facilitating the construction of bio methanisation plants, and easing community hall usage. The DDA also increased land rates for commercial and industrial properties, reflecting its comprehensive strategy for urban development.
