Debby's Devastating Path: Storms, Floods, and Rescues

Debby finally moved out of the US on Saturday after a week of wrecking havoc with tornadoes and flooding, damaging homes, and claiming lives along the East Coast. Debby first made landfall in Florida as a hurricane.

The storm's last day over the US saw heavy rains inundate south-central New York and north-central Pennsylvania, necessitating evacuations and helicopter rescues. The post-tropical cyclone continued dropping rain on New England and southern Quebec, Canada, before conditions improved as it moved northeast.

Fire Chief Timothy Martin said, 'Everybody in the town is safe, but every business in Woodhull is damaged.' New York and Pennsylvania Governors declared states of emergency while rescue operations continued in severely affected areas.
