Laborer Killed, Two Injured as Banquet Hall Collapses in Delhi Amid Heavy Rain
A laborer died and two others were injured when a two-storey banquet hall collapsed in northwest Delhi's Model Town during heavy rains. A laborer tragically lost his life while two others suffered injuries after a two-storey banquet hall collapsed amid heavy afternoon rains in northwest Delhi's Model Town on Saturday.
The incident, occurring around 2.45 pm in Mahendru Enclave, involved an old structure undergoing repairs. Initial reports classified the building as abandoned, later revised to an active banquet hall.
Emergency services, including local police and NDRF personnel, quickly responded, rescuing three individuals from the debris. Identified as Vishal, Pawan, and Jai Singh, they were rushed to nearby hospitals. Unfortunately, Vishal, a JCB crane driver, succumbed to his injuries. A case has been filed against the building's owner and the contractor responsible for the repairs.
