A fire erupted in the parking area of a building in Asola village, south Delhi, early Sunday morning, injuring two people and resulting in the rescue of twelve others, officials reported.

The Delhi Fire Services received a call at 5.01 am and dispatched three fire tenders to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 6.50 am, an official stated.

According to officials, the blaze originated from vehicles and an electric meter board in the building's stilt parking area and subsequently spread throughout the four-story building. Residents were evacuated, and those facing respiratory issues or injuries were transferred to AIIMS Trauma Centre and Safdarjung Hospital. A preliminary investigation indicates the fire began due to a short circuit on the ground floor.
