NDMC Approves Infrastructure Overhaul and New Bye-laws

The NDMC approved multiple infrastructure proposals, including refurbishing road signages in line with updated IRC guidelines, adopting Plastic Waste Management Bye-laws 2024, and enhancing street lighting. A Memorandum of Agreement with CRRI was also signed for road maintenance. The council announced an estimated expenditure of Rs 18.07 crore for these updates.

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has outlined an ambitious plan to overhaul the city's infrastructure, including the refurbishment of road signages, the adoption of new plastic waste management bye-laws, and an upgrade to the street lighting system.

Vice-chairman Satish Upadhyay confirmed that NDMC would collaborate with the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) to ensure technical guidance in maintaining the road network. The council approved the Memorandum of Agreement for this partnership.

Additionally, the council announced an estimated budget of Rs 18.07 crore for replacing outdated road signages and implementing new installations, aligning with the latest IRC guidelines from 2022. These steps aim to enhance urban safety and sustainability.
