Guwahati Faces Severe Floods Following Heavy Rains

Guwahati experienced severe flooding on Tuesday due to prolonged heavy rains, causing massive traffic jams and significant disruption. Knee-deep to chest-high water levels were reported across the city, affecting areas such as Zoo Road and RG Baruah Road. Vehicles were stranded, homes were flooded, and power cuts were prevalent.

The downpour, which continued from the early hours into the afternoon, resulted in knee-deep to chest-high water levels on roads, paralyzing the city's daily activities.

Major roads, including Zoo Road and RG Baruah Road, experienced significant flooding, trapping vehicles, including school buses, and inundating hundreds of homes. The situation was exacerbated by widespread power outages.
