Tragic Wall Collapse Claims Lives at Construction Site

Three workers tragically lost their lives and two others sustained injuries when a wall adjacent to an under-construction drain collapsed in Mehdi Pur village on Thursday, police have confirmed.

The incident took place around 1 pm, burying five workers under the debris. The deceased have been identified as Pradeep Kumar, Chandraprakash, and Ramanand. The injured workers, Arun Kumar and Omprakash, were rescued and taken to the district hospital for treatment.

Local officials, including Superintendent of Police (Rural) Satypal Singh and Chakarnagar SDM Brahmanand, arrived at the scene to address demands from villagers for compensation. Authorities have assured relief under various government schemes for the victims' families and are currently completing necessary legal formalities, including post-mortem examinations.
