Empowering Youth: Shaping India's Urban Future

Union Minister Tokhan Sahu emphasizes youth involvement in urban policies for 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. At 'World Habitat Day', he discusses initiatives to engage youths in planning, highlighting a demographic opportunity. Rs 2 lakh crore is allocated for employment and training of 4.1 crore young Indians.

The Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu, underscored the crucial role of youth in implementing effective policies, aligning efforts towards the government's vision of 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047.

Speaking on 'World Habitat Day', Sahu highlighted this year's theme, 'Engaging youth to create a better urban future', which accentuates the necessity of incorporating young voices in urban planning to cultivate inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities.

The ministry further announced plans for impactful youth engagement, including internship opportunities for 1 crore youths and a special budget allocation of Rs 2 lakh crore to promote skills and employment for over 4 crore young individuals in the upcoming five years.
