A tragic incident unfolded in the Junnar tehsil of Pune district as a 40-year-old woman was fatally attacked by a leopard on Wednesday morning, according to forest officials. The victim, identified as Sujata Dere, was in a soybean field near her home when the predator struck.
Despite her husband's desperate attempts to save her, the leopard managed to drag her further into the field. Unfortunately, Dere succumbed to her injuries sustained during the attack, as confirmed by a forest official.
In response, a search operation has been launched to track down the elusive creature. Authorities have deployed drone cameras and set up cages in the vicinity in hopes of capturing the leopard and preventing further tragedies.
