Rescue operations were swiftly carried out, with about 100 workers evacuated from the site and a helicopter rescuing 14 individuals from the rooftop. The blaze, reported at around 10:20 a.m., was largely extinguished by Friday afternoon, as stated by Hong Moon-shik, chief of the Busan Gijang District Fire Department.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, while television footage captured dramatic scenes of smoke and flames and the helicopter's rescue efforts. Acting President Choi Sang-mok called for all necessary resources to be deployed to control the situation.
