Delhi PWD Takes Charge: A New Road to Revamp

Senior officials of Delhi's Public Works Department will now oversee specific road sections to ensure proper maintenance. Each official, up to superintendent engineer level, will adopt a road stretch to monitor and provide feedback. This initiative aims to improve road conditions across Delhi, supported by app-based monitoring.

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Public Works Department (PWD) of Delhi has mandated senior officials to take direct responsibility for specific road stretches, ensuring their maintenance and upkeep, according to a senior official on Sunday.

The decision addresses the deteriorating condition of roads in the national capital by requiring all PWD officers, up to superintendent engineers, to adopt at least one stretch. An official detailed measures to assign lanes and demand progress updates through the E-Monitoring App.

This initiative follows the department's target to repair 7,000 potholes by April 30. The newly elected BJP government, led by Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, supports these efforts after the party's significant win in the recent Delhi elections.
