Tragedy Amidst Flames: Motorcyclist Succumbs to Injuries from Mumbai Gas Pipeline Fire

A young motorcyclist, aged 22, succumbed to his injuries following a gas pipeline blaze in Mumbai's Andheri East, officials confirmed on Monday. The fire, which erupted around 12:35 AM on Sunday, involved a heavily leaking supply pipe of Mahanagar Gas Limited located in the middle of a road near Sher-E-Punjab society, close to a gurdwara at Takshila.
According to MGL, the pipeline was compromised due to the impact from a JCB machine during unauthorized and uncontrolled excavation. This incident led to the injury of three individuals, including Aman Harishankar Saroj and Arvindkumar Kaithal, who suffered significant burn injuries.
The injured were initially treated at the Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care Centre before opting for further care at the National Burns Centre in Navi Mumbai. Tragically, Saroj, who sustained 40 to 50 percent burns, was pronounced dead at 11:30 AM, while Kaithal remains in critical condition with similar injuries.
