Fierce Thunderstorms Wreak Havoc in Palghar: Over 760 Houses Damaged
Unseasonal rains and thunderstorms struck Maharashtra's Palghar district, leading to the damage of over 760 homes and the tragic death of an elderly man. The severe weather also impacted fishing activities, damaging around 50 boats. Local authorities are assessing damages and providing necessary assistance.

Unseasonal rains and thunderstorms caused significant damage to over 760 homes in Maharashtra's coastal Palghar district, officials reported. The adverse weather also resulted in the unfortunate death of an elderly man due to electrocution.
In addition to house damages, around 50 fishing boats were affected by the downpour and gusty winds that hit the area on Tuesday night. Heavy rains impacted various parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai as well as the districts of Thane, Palghar, and Raigad.
Vivekananda Kadam, the chief of the disaster management cell, stated that Dahanu witnessed the highest number of house damages, with 230 cases reported. Following close were Vikramgad and Wada with 92 each, and other areas also suffering significant impact.
