A tragic incident unfolded in Sector 27 as a construction site's basement wall collapsed, claiming the life of a labourer and injuring three others. The accident occurred Wednesday evening, reportedly exacerbated by recent rains.
Krishna, a 42-year-old labourer from West Bengal, succumbed to his injuries despite being rushed to a hospital. Those present, including the house owner and contractor, managed to rescue the other trapped workers.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident. A senior officer mentioned that two workers remain hospitalized, while one has been discharged after receiving first aid. Community members suspect rain-induced ground instability as a contributing factor.
