The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall across West Bengal for the next five days. Heavy showers are anticipated particularly in south Bengal districts, including Howrah, Hooghly, and the South 24 Parganas on Wednesday and Thursday.

The forecast extends to the sub-Himalayan districts as well. Areas like Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Jalpaiguri are expected to experience heavy rains on Tuesday and Wednesday. The IMD has sounded an alert for residents in these regions.

According to IMD data, Darjeeling witnessed the highest rainfall in the state with 68 mm collected in just 24 hours leading up to Monday morning. Meanwhile, Digha, a popular seaside destination, received 52 mm during the same period.
