Mysterious Elephant Death in Jharkhand: Investigation Underway

In Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharswan district, a female elephant was discovered dead by locals on their way to a paddy field. The forest department is investigating to determine the cause of death, which is yet to be confirmed through a postmortem. A similar incident occurred on June 5 in the same district.

A female elephant was discovered deceased in the village of Hevan, located in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharswan district, on Wednesday morning. The carcass was noticed by villagers en route to their paddy fields, prompting immediate notification to the forest department.

The forest department has launched an investigation into the mysterious death, with the exact cause yet to be determined pending the results of a postmortem examination.

This incident follows the death of another elephant in the Chandil sub-division of the same district on June 5, raising concerns about the safety of wildlife in the area.
