Governor reviews key urban initiatives in Manipur

Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Wednesday reviewed key urban initiatives, including solid waste management, implementation of property tax, and GIS-based property tax systems in the state, a Raj Bhavan statement said.
Chairing a meeting at the Raj Bhavan, Bhalla emphasised the need for the timely and effective implementation of these initiatives, particularly the importance of scientific waste management and transparent tax systems to strengthen governance, the statement added.
Bhalla also urged departments to work in coordination and launch awareness drives to ensure public participation.
Senior officials from Imphal Smart City Limited, Planning and Development Authority, and Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development (MAHUD) presented updates on the progress of various development works.
