In a swift rescue operation, Thane Municipal Corporation's Disaster Management Cell (DMC) and Fire Brigade personnel successfully evacuated 13 residents from Naiknagar Chawl in Diva town, Maharashtra, on Tuesday evening.

The operation was launched after the DMC, led by chief Yasin Tadvi, received a distress call at around 10.15 pm regarding the residents trapped in rising floodwaters inside the chawl.

The rescue comes amid heavy rainfall that has caused extensive waterlogging in low-lying areas across Thane and adjacent regions. Local authorities remain vigilant, monitoring vulnerable segments to prevent further emergencies.
