In Nagaland, relentless rains have wreaked havoc, leaving a trail of widespread infrastructure damage across multiple districts, an official report stated.
According to the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), heavy downpours from September 8 to 14 triggered landslides, mudslides, and floods, severely impacting public infrastructure, homes, and farmlands.
The NSDMA is coordinating with district teams to evacuate affected residents, distribute relief materials, and restore vital connectivity while advising the public to remain cautious amidst ongoing adverse weather conditions and potential threats like waterlogging and flash floods.
