Jammu and Kashmir have been hit hard by heavy rains and floods, causing substantial damage across multiple sectors. Congress leader Tariq Hameed Karra emphasized the urgent need for the administration, led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, to take proactive steps in addressing the situation.
Karra criticized the insufficient financial aid of Rs 209 crore and called for a thorough rehabilitation package for victims. Additionally, he urged the Central government to forgive KCC loans for farmers and provide them with interest-free loans to aid in their recovery.
Highlighting the transportation issues caused by the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, Karra noted the severe impact on fruit growers and emphasized the need to prioritize the Mughal Road as an alternative route.
