Ashoka Buildcon faces a temporary suspension by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) following a serious incident involving construction safety. The company has been barred from participating in any ongoing or future bids for a month or until an expert committee completes its investigation.
The suspension comes after two precast PSC girders fell during the construction of a six-lane Elevated Corridor on NH-66 in Kerala. One girder landed on a commercial vehicle, resulting in the fatality of the driver.
In response to the incident, Ashoka Buildcon received a show-cause notice from NHAI. The company's future participation in NHAI projects hinges on the findings of the expert committee's report.
