The Forest Department has elevated security measures to safeguard pilgrims journeying to the Sabarimala temple, located in a forested area, from wild animal confrontations during the pilgrimage season.
Officials have formed specialized squads consisting of snake catchers and eco-guards hailing from tribal communities. Notably, 65 snakes and 65 wild boars have already been captured and relocated to deeper forest areas to curtail potential risks.
In addition, solar fencing and waste management systems are being put in place. Emergency medical centers and a coordination control room are operational, reaffirming the department's commitment to both wildlife conservation and pilgrim safety.
