On Friday, Jal Shakti Minister C R Paatil critiqued the viability of constructing new dams due to financial, logistical, and ecological concerns. Speaking at the 'Vision for Sujalam Bharat' summit, he pointed out India's limited water resources and proposed conservation as a sustainable alternative.

Paatil advocated for community participation and initiatives like the 'Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari' and Jal Shakti Abhiyan to champion the cause of water management. Highlighting the success of grassroots actions, he emphasized that water stewardship is a national responsibility.
