An MBBS student tragically lost his life, while another is critically injured after a scooter accident in Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur district. The victims were identified as students of AIIMS Bilaspur, the deceased being Akhilesh from Rajasthan and Ayush Kumar from Haryana.
Ayush, who was riding as a pillion, is currently battling for his life in the Intensive Care Unit at AIIMS Bilaspur. Both students had reportedly been away from their hostel since the previous day, according to police sources.
The incident at Padgal Chowk poses investigative challenges due to a malfunctioning CCTV camera, preventing clear footage acquisition. Police have initiated a case against unidentified suspects, with Additional Superintendent of Police Shiv Chaudhary leading the investigation.
