Delhi Partners with Corporates to Beautify and Greener Roads
The Delhi government has teamed up with leading companies for the beautification and maintenance of major roads and flyovers. Through CSR initiatives, companies like GMR, IOCL, and Vedanta will manage cleanliness and greening efforts. The Delhi government has embarked on a mission to beautify the city by collaborating with prominent corporations. As part of a significant move, road stretches and flyovers have been designated to companies like IOCL, Vedanta, and GMR for maintenance and cleanliness efforts, according to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
An MoU was signed with GMR, which will oversee the Azadpur market to Inderlok stretch, focusing on planting, cleaning, and sustaining the area, aided by a Rs 6 crore budget. Meanwhile, IOCL, Vedanta, and others have been tasked with various key locations as part of corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Chief Minister Gupta has called for a concerted fight against pollution, urging citizens, corporations, and government bodies to collaborate in these endeavors. She highlighted the importance of public participation and responsible practices to ensure a cleaner, safer Delhi.
