An infant was abducted by a wolf in Kaiserganj, Bahraich, on Sunday, setting off a massive search operation involving forest teams and locals aided by drone technology, official sources reported.

The whereabouts of the child and the wolf remain unknown. Villagers recounted that the child, Subhash, was snatched from his sleeping mother's side at approximately 1:30 am. Despite attempts to chase the predator, it disappeared into the night, according to locals.

The disturbing incident is not isolated; in recent weeks, three similar wolf attacks have unnerved the Mallahanpurwa community, resulting in both injuries and fatalities. Bahraich has seen eight deaths and multiple injuries from such attacks since early September, prompting intervention from state authorities, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who has authorized intensive capture operations.
