A shepherd was discovered dead outside Kanha National Park on Sunday, suspected to be the victim of a tiger attack, according to officials.
Bichhiya range officer Avinash Jain communicated that the definitive cause of death will be disclosed by the pending post-mortem report. The shepherd, identified as Pancham Dhurve, was last seen on Friday after heading to the forest with his livestock. His family filed a missing person's report at the Bichhiya police station when he failed to return home.
Dhurve's body was uncovered on Sunday near a stream in the Sarhi zone. Preliminary observations suggest he was attacked by a wild animal, possibly a tiger, as indicated by movement reports in the region. The area, located outside the expansive Kanha National Park, is known for wildlife activity.
