Swift Action Prevents Major Blaze from Spreading in Pune

A major fire erupted on Tuesday afternoon on the terrace of a two-storey commercial complex that houses an apparel store in Pune's Sadadhiv Peth area, according to officials.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Ten fire tenders swiftly responded, succeeding in extinguishing the flames within an hour. Fire brigade officials noted the presence of 'huge flames and dense smoke' emanating from the terrace, where a tin shed and solar panels were situated.

Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, accessed the building to conduct operations and verify that no individuals were trapped. Difficulties in accessing the fire's source led crews to tear open metal sheets from an adjacent shop to channel water jets inside. Ultimately, the fire was contained to the upper floors, sparing neighboring structures from damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
