Tragedy Strikes Under-Construction Library in South Korea

On Thursday, a tragic incident occurred as an under-construction library in South Korea's southern city of Gwangju collapsed. This unfortunate event has left one worker dead and three others trapped amidst the debris, authorities have reported.

Initially, four workers were buried in the collapse. While rescuers managed to pull one of them out, the worker was pronounced dead shortly thereafter at a nearby hospital. Local emergency officer Ahn Gyun-jae provided this information during a televised briefing.

Efforts continue to rescue the remaining trapped workers. Rescuers have employed cranes, drones, thermal imaging cameras, and rescue dogs to navigate the rubble and locate the individuals. The community awaits updates as authorities push forward with the delicate task of recovery.
