On Thursday, a tragic incident occurred as an under-construction library in South Korea's southern city of Gwangju collapsed. This unfortunate event has left one worker dead and three others trapped amidst the debris, authorities have reported.

Initially, four workers were buried in the collapse. While rescuers managed to pull one of them out, the worker was pronounced dead shortly thereafter at a nearby hospital. Local emergency officer Ahn Gyun-jae provided this information during a televised briefing.
