Andhra Pradesh State Mines & Geology and Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra announced that three new academic regions will be established in Andhra Pradesh for its overall development.
The minister participated in a public grievance redressal programme, which was held at the Telugu Desam Party office in Machilipatnam on Sunday evening. Speaking to the media persons, Minister Kollu Ravindra said that steps are being taken to establish these academic regions in Amaravati, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati. He said that the academic regions will focus on identifying and developing regional resources. The government has taken steps to identify the resources within these regions and develop them.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has reviewed the Visakhapatnam academic region with the officials, he added. The minister said that review meetings on the development of the Amaravati and Tirupati regions will be held soon.
He also stated that during the recent investment meet in Visakhapatnam, Myra and Coast Guard companies came forward to set up two large tourism projects in Machilipatnam, and land allocations will be made to these two companies soon.
He added that four companies have come forward for the construction of a shipyard in Machilipatnam, and a meeting will be held soon with the representatives of these four companies. Based on their capabilities, the government will grant permission for the construction of the shipyard.
