Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station, one of the busiest transit hubs in the National Capital Region, is slated for significant upgrades with the introduction of a pod hotel, dining facilities, and commuter-friendly services. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has officially contracted for the development, which includes a modern pod hotel with a 30-bed capacity, a fine dining restaurant, and various commercial amenities located within the station on the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor.
The pod hotel concept is particularly designed for passengers needing short stays and quick rest during layovers. This new facility will cater to long-distance travelers and frequent transfers, enabling them to rest within the station without needing to seek outside accommodations, according to NCRTC.
The proposed development also encompasses food and beverage outlets, office spaces, apparel stores, and retail facilities. The project involves a total area of 4,000 square meters spread across different station levels. This initiative aligns with NCRTC's broader aims to leverage commercial opportunities along the corridor to boost non-fare box revenue. The Anand Vihar station serves as a key multi-modal hub in the region, offering connections to Delhi Metro, local railway stations, and interstate bus terminals.
