A devastating fire erupted at a factory in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district, resulting in eight individuals, including an eight-month-old baby, suffering burns. The incident took place around 11 am on Thursday, at a carbon plant located in Banipathar village, under Kharsia police station jurisdiction.
Raigarh Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Soni reported that local residents and a police team quickly mobilized to assist the victims, who were initially treated at the district hospital. Subsequently, they were referred to Jindal Fortis Hospital for advanced care.
Authorities, including police, forensic teams, and labor department officials, have launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary information suggests the plant might have been involved in producing oil by melting old tyres for road construction, but this has not been confirmed. The search for the cause of the fire continues.
