A concerning incident unfolded in Mulund, north-east Mumbai, when a section of an under-construction metro rail pillar collapsed. According to a fire brigade official, the event took place around 12:20pm on the busy LBS Road, directly in front of the Johnson and Johnson factory.
The collapse resulted in a cement slab falling onto an autorickshaw below, completely smashing the vehicle. As a result, three to four individuals are feared injured, with emergency services quickly responding to the scene.
Personnel from the fire brigade, police, and the firm responsible for Line 4's construction are currently on site, working to ensure safety and manage post-incident operations. Officials are continuing to gather further details regarding the situation.
