The Centre has greenlit an ambitious extension of the Aqua Line Metro, stretching from Botanical Garden to Noida Sector 142. This new development will add eight stations, expanding the metro network to over 61.62 km. Spearheaded by the Noida Metro Rail Corporation, the project is set to cost Rs 2,254.35 crore and is expected to be completed within four years.

The extended route is designed to significantly enhance connectivity, facilitating smoother commuting between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi. Key locations such as IGI Airport and major railway stations will become more accessible, strengthening the region's urban infrastructure under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

The new metro line will provide seamless connectivity with Delhi's metro network at Botanical Garden, integrating with the existing Blue and Magenta Lines. It aims to promote public transport use, reduce congestion, and support sustainable growth in Noida's economically vibrant IT hubs and residential areas along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
