A tigress named T-94, aged around 10, was discovered lifeless in the Khandar range of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, Rajasthan, on Sunday, as reported by forest officials. Manas Singh, deputy director of Ranthambore Tiger Project-I, confirmed that the carcass was located by staff during routine patrols in the Ghoda Ghati area.

Following the discovery, the remains were transported to the Rajbagh forest outpost, where a board of veterinary doctors conducted a post-mortem in adherence to the National Tiger Conservation Authority's original protocol. Singh confirmed that all body parts were intact during the examination.

The initial diagnosis suggests lung failure as the probable cause of death, but samples collected during the post-mortem have been sent to a veterinary lab for more precise identification. The definitive cause is expected to be revealed upon receipt of the lab report.
