Tragedy in Godavari: Five Engineering Students Drown

Five engineering students tragically drowned in the Godavari River in Eluru district while bathing. Despite two surviving, the depth of the river proved fatal for others. Search operations are underway to recover the remaining bodies as police continue their investigation into the accident.

In a tragic incident in Eluru district, five engineering students lost their lives after drowning in the Godavari River on Friday.

According to Polavaram Deputy Superintendent of Police M Venkateswara, the group of seven had entered the river for a bath unaware of its depth. While two students survived due to their swimming skills, five others could not escape.

Efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining bodies with State Disaster Response Force teams actively searching under official supervision. A police case has been filed, and an investigation is currently underway.
