It was a cold, misty morning in Delhi on Tuesday with the minimum temperature recorded at 12 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, while the air quality was in the 'poor' category. "Clouds will partly cover the sky throughout the day with the development of thunder lightning towards the evening. Light rainfall is also likely to occur in parts of the city," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 26 degrees Celsius. The overall air quality of Delhi at 8.30 a.m., was recorded at 232 (poor) with 98 per cent of humidity levels - highly unfavourable for pollutants to disperse.

The city witnessed 2.2 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours, the IMD said. The minimum temperature on Monday was recorded at 11.2 degrees Celsius, the season's average, while the maximum reached 25.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal.
