Delhi's Thirst-Quenching Initiative: Water ATMs Unveiled
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched a water ATM and development projects in Shalimar Bagh, enhancing access to clean water. Gupta distributed water ATM cards to residents and emphasized providing Pucca homes in unauthorized colonies. Eight water ATMs are part of Indian Oil's CSR initiative, promising timely infrastructure for cultural events.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated a state-of-the-art water ATM along with other development projects in Shalimar Bagh's unauthorized colony on Wednesday. Gupta stated that her administration is committed to ensuring every Delhi resident has access to safe drinking water around the clock.
The newly inaugurated water ATM is described as a significant first, capable of dispensing 30 liters of purified water daily. Gupta emphasized that the initiative is part of broader efforts to improve unauthorized colonies and Jhuggis, promising residents 2,000 liters of clean water per hour. The initiative is expected to significantly ease water access issues in densely populated areas.
Reflecting on future plans, the Chief Minister reiterated her commitment to providing 'pucca' housing to all Jhuggi residents. Currently, eight water ATMs have been installed in the Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency, thanks to the Indian Oil's CSR initiative. Gupta also inspected Munak Canal's cleaning work and Chhath ghat construction, ensuring timely completion for upcoming cultural festivities.
