The Madhya Pradesh Census for 2027 kicks off its initial phase on May 1, as announced by officials. Over the month, census workers will conduct a door-to-door data collection exercise, covering information on houses, families, and other structures.
An extensive digital process will be employed, with enumerators using a mobile application to record data. All field staff will carry photo IDs, and the public is advised to share information only with authorized personnel. A toll-free helpline, 1855, has been set up for support.
Census Director Kartikey Goyal emphasized the importance of accurate data collection, calling it a cornerstone for development planning. He also highlighted measures to monitor and counteract rumors on social media.
