In a tragic accident, two minor girls drowned in a water tank located in the Shipra Path police station area, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in Jagannathpuri late Tuesday when Radhika and Gosia, both aged 5, fell into the tank at an under-construction house near their home.

The family, alarmed when the girls did not return home from play, found the children's slippers by the site. Despite rushing them to a hospital, doctors declared the girls dead. An investigation into the circumstances continues.
