Wildlife Poaching Thwarted: Arrest and Venison Seizure in Odisha

Forest officials seized 20 kg of deer meat and arrested a man for wildlife poaching in Bhitarkanika National Park, Odisha. The suspect, skilled in hunting wild animals, was allegedly using nylon nets for deer trapping. He has been charged under the Wildlife Protection Act.

In a significant action against wildlife poaching, forest officials in Odisha's Kendrapara district seized 20 kg of venison and apprehended an individual linked to illegal hunting activities.

The operation took place in the Dakhina Mahinsidiha protected reserve forest within the Bhitarkanika National Park, following a tip-off on Wednesday.

The suspect was reportedly adept at hunting, and authorities recovered a nylon net, commonly used for trapping deer, from his possession. He faces multiple charges under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
