Tragedy Strikes: Wild Elephant Claims Life in Jharkhand

A tragic incident unfolded in Jharkhand's Giridih district when a wild elephant trampled 25-year-old Kausar Ansari to death, according to local police. The event occurred in Gadaiya village under the Sariya police station's jurisdiction.

Sariya police station officer, Pinku Singh, confirmed that the victim was collecting bamboo in a nearby forest. Ansari's body has been returned to his family after a post-mortem examination.

In response, the family received Rs 50,000 in immediate relief, with full compensation promised following necessary procedures. The government allocates Rs 4 lakh for elephant-related fatalities. This incident follows another fatality involving a wild elephant in the region earlier this week.
