The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has served fresh eviction notices to Yamuna Bazar residents, allowing a 15-day period to vacate the area. This move aims to ensure the territory, a part of the ecologically critical Yamuna floodplains, remains free from encroachments.

Dated May 15, the latest notices cover the entire Yamuna Bazar, following the prior directive on May 5 targeting 310 structures. Residents have a seven-day window to submit any representations or objections, a provision absent in earlier notices.

Authorities emphasize the recurring inundation during Yamuna floods, presenting significant risks to life and property. Non-compliance with the eviction could result in demolition actions, a measure underscoring the stringent enforcement of environmental and urban planning norms.
