Uttarakhand: IMD forecasts rain, thunderstorms for hill districts
The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain and thunderstorms for several hill districts of Uttarakhand on Saturday.On Friday, the weather department issued a warning for the mountainous regions, indicating that these areas might experience thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph.According to the Meteorological Centre here, the districts of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh are likely to see light to moderate rain or thunderstorms in some areas.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain and thunderstorms for several hill districts of Uttarakhand on Saturday.
On Friday, the weather department issued a warning for the mountainous regions, indicating that these areas might experience thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph.
According to the Meteorological Centre here, the districts of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh are likely to see light to moderate rain or thunderstorms in some areas. Isolated locations in the remaining hill districts are expected to witness very light to light rain.
The meteorological centre also predicted dry weather for the plain districts.
Maximum temperatures in Uttarakhand are likely to decrease by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the next 1-2 days, before rising by 1-3 degrees Celsius in the following 2-3 days.
Recent observations show that maximum temperatures in the plains have remained above normal to appreciably above normal over the past 24 hours, while the hill areas recorded temperatures that were normal to appreciably above normal.
In Dehradun, the weather is expected to be mainly clear to partly cloudy on Saturday, with the possibility of thunder clouds developing in some regions.
The maximum and minimum temperatures for Dehradun on Saturday are expected to be around 39 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The state capital recorded a maximum temperature of 39.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 25.9 degrees Celsius on Friday. Pantnagar recorded a maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees Celsius today, the weather department added.
