The Oakland Raiders signed veteran wide receiver Brandon LaFell and released wideout Johnny Holton, the team announced Monday.
LaFell, 31, was released by the Cincinnati Bengals in early August after two years with the team. He will serve as another veteran target after the Raiders released Martavis Bryant -- acquired for a third-round pick in April -- during final cutdowns.
LaFell totaled 116 catches for 1,410 yards and nine scores in two seasons with Cincinnati, which followed a two-year stint with the New England Patriots. A third-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2010, he has 394 grabs for 5,263 yards and 29 touchdowns in eight NFL seasons.
Holton, 27, joined Oakland as an undrafted rookie in 2016 and played in 31 games (one start) over his first two seasons, catching 11 passes for 218 yards and three scores. He played more special-teams snaps (324) than offensive snaps (281) in his Raiders tenure.
The team also announced its final three practice squad signings in offensive lineman Denver Kirkland and defensive backs Rico Gafford and Terrell Sinkfield. Kirkland, 24, appeared in six games (four starts) for Oakland in 2016.
