Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Dennis Kelly is in the hospital while fighting a virus, according to a report Saturday from NFL reporter Paul Kuharsky.
Kelly, who has been starting at right tackle with Jack Conklin (ACL recovery) still out, was listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans after missing practice Thursday and Friday with what the team called an illness.
With Conklin and starting left tackle Taylor Lewan already ruled out with a concussion, the Titans promoted tackle Tyler Marz from the practice squad on Saturday, waiving Kenneth Durden in a corresponding move.
Kelly, 28, has started eight games over the last three seasons with the Titans while serving as the swing tackle. The sixth-year veteran has often played in sets featuring six offensive linemen, playing in all 33 possible games in his Tennessee tenure. His older brother, Tim Kelly, is the Texans' tight end coach.
Conklin, 24, tore his ACL in the divisional playoffs in January and has yet to play this season. He practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday and Friday but sat out Thursday's session.
Lewan, 27, was concussed on a blindside hit during an interception return in Week 1. No penalty was called on the hit, but it spurred a minor fracas between the two teams, with multiple 15-yard penalties that followed.
Marz, 26, joined the Titans as an undrafted rookie in 2016 but has yet to play in an NFL game. He spent much of the last two years on the team's practice squad.
