Kaepernick, who sparked a national controversy by kneeling during the national anthem, first tweeted the ad on the Labor Day weekend, which immediately sparked demands for a boycott of the company's products.

The investigation followed a Sports Illustrated report in February that described a culture in the Mavericks' front office "rife with misogyny and predatory sexual behavior".

LeBron, Coogler collaborating on new 'Space Jam'

LeBron James and director/producer Ryan Coogler, best known for directing "Black Panther," are teaming up to make a long anticipated new "Space Jam" film. SpringHill Entertainment, James and business partner Maverick Carter's company, announced the news Tuesday by tweeting out a cartoon image of a locker room with lockers for James, Bugs Bunny, Coogler and Terence Nance, who will direct the film. Coogler will be the producer.

'The process stinks': doping body facing outrage as Russia vote nears

The World Anti-Doping Agency will vote on Thursday on whether to lift its ban on Russia, in the face of outrage and revolt from athletes and the anti-doping establishment after its advisory committee recommended Moscow be let back in. WADA, which is the main global body tasked with preventing doping in sport, suspended Russia's anti-doping agency RUSADA in November 2015 after a WADA report outlined evidence of state-backed, systematic doping in Russian athletics.

O'Brien rips 'idiotic' remark about QB Watson

Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien responded harshly Wednesday to controversial comments made online by a Texas school superintendent about quarterback Deshaun Watson. According to ESPN, those teams are the Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers.

Harding Steinbrenner team to race in 2019 IndyCar series

Steinbrenner Racing has joined forces with Harding Racing to run two cars driven by up-and-coming teenagers Colton Herta and Patricio O'Ward in next year's IndyCar Series, the teams announced on Wednesday. Harding Racing has just finished its first full season IndyCar while Steinbrenner Racing, run by the grandson of former New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, competed in Indy Lights last year.

NFL fines Ravens $200,000 for rules violation

The NFL fined the Baltimore Ravens $200,000 on Wednesday for pre-season violations of the league's coach-to-player communications policy. The team was fined because several Ravens wore helmets with coach-to-player communications while on the field at the same time, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said.
