Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich announced Friday that five players, including left tackle Anthony Castonzo, have been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Castonzo, who has been battling a hamstring injury since prior to the start of training camp, was able to put in back-to-back days at practice on Thursday and Friday for the first time since Sept. 12. He missed the entire preseason after re-aggravating the injury a few days into camp and sat out for the Colts' 2018 regular season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals as a precaution. He suffered a subsequent setback the following week in preparation for Indy's Week 2 matchup against the Washington Redskins.
Le'Raven Clark is expected to replace Castonzo for a third straight week on Sunday.
Additionally, tight end Jack Doyle (hip) and tackle/guard Joe Haeg (ankle) will not play Sunday. Missing from the Colts' defensive lineup will be tackle Hassan Ridgeway (calf) and cornerback Quincy Wilson (concussion).
Reich said Monday that Haeg, who injured his ankle in last Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, could miss multiple weeks. All four players did not practice this week.
Sunday will mark the first time Doyle will miss back-to-back games in his career.
Running back Marlon Mack (hamstring) will be a game-time decision according to Reich, who said Mack has been "making progress," but has been limited in practice since his return on Wednesday.
Also, safety Clayton Geathers (knee) did not practice and is questionable for Sunday, and linebacker Anthony Walker (groin) is also questionable and was limited in practice.
