Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson will get a second opinion on his injured right shoulder, the NFL Network reported Tuesday.
Peterson said he dislocated the shoulder late in the first half during Monday night's loss to the New Orleans Saints. Redskins coach Jay Gruden said after the contest that Peterson would undergo an MRI exam on Tuesday.
Gruden had no update to offer on Peterson or any injured Washington players during a Tuesday afternoon conference call with reporters.
Peterson has vowed that he will continue to play despite the injury.
"It's not going to keep me out," Peterson told reporters. "I came back into the game. It was just a situation where it was sore. I just popped it back in, braced it up at halftime and got back in there."
Peterson has rushed for 242 yards and three touchdowns on 60 carry this season.
Running back Chris Thompson (rib) and receiver Paul Richardson (knee) also suffered injuries during Monday's game.
